Chat styles explained
Updated October 11, 2026
Every chat on Shiro has a chat style. A style changes how replies are written and which AI model writes them, without changing who the character is. Their personality, gender and story stay the same. Tap the style button at the top of a chat to switch; each chat remembers its own.
Spark: balanced
The default. Quick, lively replies that keep the story moving. Spark is the cheapest style, so it's great for long, casual stories.
Ember: a deeper tone
A more grounded delivery: confident, calm, fewer wasted words and dry humor. Great for stern mentors, rivals, detectives and anyone who should sound steady.
Petal: a softer tone
A warmer, gentler delivery with feelings shown openly. Great for kind, shy or caring characters and cozy slice-of-life stories.
Heartstring: romance
Leans into emotional closeness, meaningful looks and slow-burn tension, always following your lead and always within our community guidelines.
Nova: smart all-rounder (shiro+)
Written by a larger model with a longer memory. Replies stay short but pick better details and stay more consistent with what happened earlier in the story.
Prism: our best (shiro+)
Our strongest model and the longest memory. Best for long stories with lots of characters, names and events to keep track of.
Credits per reply
Stronger styles cost more credits per reply. The style picker shows the price of each one, and you can switch at any time. A good habit: use Spark for casual moments and switch to a richer style for the big scenes.
